We are complying with every commitment we have made. Our prestige and credit abroad is growing every day. We are participating actively in many international organizations, in addition to our membership in the General Assembly of the United Nations.

This is a great privilege for a young and small country such as ours. I believe sincerely that this recognition is due to the fact that our Republic during its short existence has gained the respect and confidence of the nations of the world. I am happy to state that this achievement has been accomplished in large measure through the good-will tour around the world of the Vice-President and to his brilliant leadership in our foreign affairs.

Our relations with the United States remain on a most cordial and friendly basis. The American Government is giving every evidence of its continued interest in our welfare. We have every assurance of a sympathetic consideration by the American Congress and the American Government of all questions affecting the Philippines.
